Jude Bellingham reacts to Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon’s EA FC rating
Anthony Gordon
Jude BellinghamAnthony Gordon has expressed his utter disbelief after discovering his latest virtual attributes on international duty.
In a video released on the England YouTube channel, as reported by the Mirror, the Barcelona winger reacted with fury to his defensive statistics.
The 25-year-old has been in sensational form for his country, scoring in four consecutive matches under Thomas Tuchel.
Having recently found the net in a resounding 7-0 victory over Croatia, Gordon was joined by international colleagues Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers to guess their upcoming EA Sports FC 27 scores.

Outrage over defensive stats
While the former Newcastle United attacker easily claimed the top spot for pace with an impressive rating of 91, his defensive score left him completely stunned.

The England trio initially predicted that Gordon would rank fourth among a select group of six players, placing him above Rogers and Harry Kane.
Instead, the official rankings saw him slide down the order due to a defensive rating of just 50.
This score was only a single point higher than Kane’s and a massive 17 points below Rogers, prompting an immediate outburst from the Barcelona star.
Speaking on the England YouTube channel, Gordon made his feelings perfectly clear:
“How can I be lower than that? Oh my god. The disrespect on that! Are we comparing my defending to Ez?”
Bellingham left speechless
His reaction left Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham completely open-mouthed, while Chelsea attacker Rogers could not hide his laughter.
Before the official statistics were unveiled, Bellingham had backed his teammate’s work rate off the ball.
Speaking about the winger’s defensive qualities, Bellingham said:
“I do think defensively [Rogers] is really good, but Ant’s pressing, I feel like they’d see that more.”
Rogers, who had earlier been accused by Gordon of not defending, quickly mocked the winger’s low score.
The Chelsea player joked that Ezri Konsa would easily dribble past him based on those numbers.
Modesty in the shooting ranks
The debate did not stop at defending, as the players also looked at shooting and physicality.
Gordon chose to rank himself behind Kane, Bellingham, Rogers, and Eberechi Eze, leaving Dominic Calvert-Lewin in last place.
However, his teammates felt the winger was being far too self-deprecating about his finishing abilities.
Bellingham suggested that Gordon was showing too much modesty, a sentiment that Rogers fully agreed with.
The mood darkened again for Gordon when his physical rating was revealed as a lowly 71, placing him bottom of the six-man list.
Bellingham once again leaped to his defence, arguing that the winger’s defensive score should at least be higher than his physical rating.
The influence of Eddie Howe
The low defensive score is particularly surprising given Gordon’s reputation for high-intensity pressing.
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe frequently praised the attacker’s work rate when he was deployed as a central striker last season.
Gordon has previously credited Howe for instilling a relentless work ethic during their time together at St James’ Park.
Speaking to The Overlap in 2024, Gordon said:
“Every session, if you’re daydreaming for one second, he’s somehow managed to see it and he’s screaming your name,”
The winger added that this intense environment prepared him well for the international stage:
“Eddie’s culture is much harder than what it was like when I first went to the England camp, but it’s got me to where I am now, which is a good thing.”
Focus turns to Wembley
With the gaming debate settled, Gordon will now turn his attention back to real-world action.
The £69million summer signing has already registered five assists in seven games for Barcelona but is still searching for his first goal in Spain.
He will hope to maintain his scoring streak for England when Tuchel’s side host Czechia at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
