Noel GallagherManchester City supporter Liam Gallagher has claimed a high-ranking club source leaked the final outcome of the club’s financial misconduct case to him.
The Oasis frontman insists that the Manchester club will not face demotion or lose their historic titles, despite being found guilty of 114 financial rule breaches.
Instead, the singer asserts that City will only receive a transfer ban and a financial penalty if their upcoming appeal is unsuccessful.
A confident claim on social media
Posting on the social media platform X, the rock star told his followers that he had received inside information from an extremely influential figure.
Speaking on his personal X account, Gallagher wrote:
“Just been told by someone in a very very high position if we lose our appeal which we won’t we’ll be getting a FINE and TRANSFER BAN and that’s it so all you desperate neurotic S****BUBBLES hush it up to ras MCFC LG x”
When another user asked if he had permission to share the details, the musician brushed off the concern with a typically blunt response, telling them to “keep up” because he had already said it.
Many rival supporters have reacted with scepticism to the singer’s claims, with some jokingly telling him to look forward to away matches against Doncaster.
Noel Gallagher shares his shock
While the younger Gallagher brother remains defiant, his sibling and bandmate Noel confessed to being shocked by the ruling.
Speaking about the verdict, Noel Gallagher said:
“I’m sad for the fans and the players and a little surprised because all along the club reassured us and vehemently denied all the charges.”
The guitarist also argued that boardroom issues should not overshadow what the players achieved on the field during those years.
Expressing his views on the situation, Noel Gallagher added:
“Whatever goes on in the boardroom, it’s nothing to do with the supporters or the players.”
He acknowledged that although rival supporters across the country might view their achievements as tainted, his own memories of their triumphs remain untarnished.
The club hierarchy calls for calm
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has also reached out to the fanbase to offer reassurance during this turbulent period.
In a public letter written to the fans, Al Mubarak stated:
“The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began.”
The chairman thanked the fan base for their constant loyalty and stressed that their determination to demonstrate their innocence remains absolute.
City deny the allegations and claim that rivals are trying to disrupt their progress.

The legal dispute is likely to continue for a long time, as the club prepares to appeal the verdict.
Meanwhile, the squad must turn their attention back to the pitch after the international break.
